The Feast of the Salute is a votive festival linked to the fight against the plague, as the feast of Redentore.

A celebration of the Salute as that of the Redeemer, the Doge and all the people of Venice came in procession to attend the solemn Mass in front of hundreds of lighted candles, passing over a bridge of boats specially designed for this occasion.
